The attribution notices carried by the upstream files in this repository are:

They are reproduced here because section 4(d) of the Apache License requires the
NOTICE to carry the attribution notices of the work it derives from, and because
naming only one of three would have been a smaller truth than the files tell.

The files in this repository are additions to, and modifications of, Hyperledger
Besu. They are published under the same licence as the code they derive from.
Several files remain in Besu's own Java packages (for example
org.hyperledger.besu.evm.precompile) because that is where they must live to be
loaded by the client; this does not make them the work of the Besu project, and
it does not make them anything other than a derivative work of it.

The patches under patches/ are diffs against Hyperledger Besu and are meaningless
without it. Obtain Besu from upstream; these files do not replace it.

Every source file in this repository carries an SPDX-License-Identifier header.
Where a file header and this NOTICE ever disagree, the file header governs, and
the disagreement is a defect to be reported.
